How it works
Three steps. The OCR engine is downloaded once, then cached.
- 1. Drop your scanned PDF
We render every page to a canvas locally.
- 2. Click Run OCR
Tesseract.js reads each page, in your browser.
- 3. Download .txt
Plain extracted text, one page at a time.
Frequently asked questions
OCR (optical character recognition) reads pixels in scanned documents and converts them into real Unicode text. You need it whenever a PDF was made by scanning paper or photographing a page — those files look like text but are actually images, so you can't search, copy, or convert them with normal tools until OCR has run.
